Fort2Base Race and Headstrong come together in a strategic partnership aimed to raise awareness for military members seeking mental health treatment in the Chicagoland area
Teaming up to help those who help others, Fort2Base Race and Headstrong are proud to announce their strategic partnership.
The Fort2Base Race is a unique running/walking event that begins in the historic Fort Sheridan, runs along the North Shore Trail, continues past Naval Station Great Lakes and finishes at Foss Park in North Chicago. Fort2Base and Headstrong look forward to honoring these two historic military encampments on August 22nd, 2021
Headstrong provides cost-free, bureaucracy-free, stigma-free, confidential and effective mental health treatment for our military connected veterans and their families.
Through this partnership they hope to reach and help even more veterans and their families, raise much needed funds, and build awareness for the Headstrong mission.
“As someone who once served at Fort Sheridan, I’m delighted by this emerging partnership that seeks to honor the area’s military history while recognizing our responsibility to serve the community’s needs, and in particular, their mental health needs. We’re thankful to our friends in Fort2Base Race for bringing this race to the community, said Colonel (U.S. Army, Ret.) Jim McDonough, Headstrong’s Executive Director, and look forward to supporting Chicago Land’s military connected members and their families.”
“Fort2Base Race is excited to be partnered with Headstrong, helping to expand our mission of giving back to the military community”, stated Beth Salinger, Founder and Race Director. “Through this partnership, we will be able to offer military service members and their family’s access to mental health care. We are meant to grow and thrive together!”
