FAQ

1 – Can I get a refund?
Fort2Base does not offer refunds. The registration fees from early registrations have been used towards our ongoing costs including website maintenance, insurance, permits and other administrative fees in order to keep the Fort2Base organization running.

2 – Will the 2021 medal still be the final piece of the three part medal?
YES, 2021 will be the 10th anniversary celebration of the Fort2Base Race and will include the final piece of the medal, a special participant giveaway and so much more!

3 – Will there be a virtual option available for 2021?
YES we will still have the virtual option available in addition to the in person option.

4 – Can I purchase last year’s medal so I can have the complete set?
YES it is a $20 donation to HeadStrong, cash of check only, we will have them race weekend at official merchandise and packet pick up

5 – Will the race be back on base?
Due to COVID Naval Station Great Lakes is not open to the community.  We are continuing to have conversations and if that changes we will let everyone know via email and social media.

6 – When is the next price increase?
August 1st

7 – Can I change event distances once I register?
YES, as long as we still have spots in that distance we will allow you to move up or down.

8 – When \ Where is packet pick up this year?
We have partnered with Road Runner Sports and will offer packet pick up at 3 locations (Wilmette, Chicago, Kildeer).  We also have race day packet pick up and packet mailing available for an additional fee.

If you are staying at our host hotel (Courtyard by Marriott in Waukegan) your packet will be waiting for you there.

8 – Can someone pick up my packet for me?
YES, they will need your authorization to do so

9 – Where do I park?
There is lots of free parking at Rosalind Franklin University and we will shuttle you to both start lines and then from Foss Park back to the Rosalind Franklin after the event.

There is no parking at Fort Sheridan.

10 – Can I wear a ruck sack for this race?
No, we do not allow Ruck, we do allow hydration packs such as a camelback and we do allow Spibelts.

11 – How many water stations are on course and what do they serve?
There are 7 water stations on the 10NM course and 2 on the 3NM course.  All serve water and Gatorade.

12 – How do I find my confirmation #?
It is included in your confirmation email or you can find it through imATHLETE through EDIT MY REGISTRATION
