2022 will mark the Eleventh annual Fort2Base race, a monumental race through Illinois’ most impressive, historic and contemporary military command and training centers.

Participants will have a choice of two race distances, a 10 Nautical Mile or 3 Nautical Mile event (11.5 miles or 3.45 miles)

Awards, Medals & Prizes
Every REGISTERED participant who finishes the 10 Nautical Mile (NM) and 3NM distance WILL receive a commemorative medal upon crossing the finish line.

AGE GROUP AWARDS WILL BE AWARDED ON RACE DAY OR MAILED ONE WEEK POST EVENT TO THE TOP 3 MALE AND FEMALE AWARD WINNERS IN THE FOLLOWING DIVISIONS:
*9 AND YOUNGER
*10 – 14          45 – 49
15 – 19            50 – 54
20 – 24            55 – 59
25 – 29            60 – 64
30 – 34             65 – 69
35 – 39            70 – 74
40 – 44            75 – 79
80 AND OLDER

*ELIGIBLE FOR THE 3NM EVENT ONLY

Please note that athletes can only win one individual award. If an athlete qualifies for more than one award, the athlete will be awarded the most prestigious award. (For example if a 43-year-old man is the 2nd overall finisher AND the top age group winner in the 40-44 age group in the 10 NM, he would receive the 2nd overall award, but not the age group award.)

Timing
The Fort 2 Base 10 Nautical Mile and 3 Nautical Mile races will be using a disposable timing chip system. Each participant will receive a timing tag attached to their race bib when they pick up their race materials at packet pickup.

If you are using the single use Tag as a timing device for the first time, please ensure the following in order to receive an accurate time.

  • Race bib is clearly visible on the front of the torso (it can be attached to a shirt, shorts or a race belt)
  • Race bib is unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold, wrinkle, bend, cut or alter in any way)
  • Race bib is not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)
