FORT2BASE COVID-19 Precautions
Below are the many precautions that the Fort2Base Team will be taking to support participants, volunteers, spectators and sponsors at this year’s event. These may change as the CDC and State of Illinois guidelines are updated. Please send any questions to Beth@fort2base.com
–> All staff and volunteers will wear masks throughout the event
–> Participants will wear masks prior to getting on shuttle buses, prior to the start of the race and after crossing the finish line
–> Spectators, sponsors and vendors will be asked to wear masks
–> At the post-race party vendors, and participants will be asked to respect social distancing
–> All porta-potties will be equipped with hand sanitizer
–> There will be free standing hand sanitizer stations at Rosalind Franklin, Foss Park (3NM start line and finish line) and Fort Sheridan
–> The 10NM start will be a wave start by pace, with 50 – 100 people starting every minute. This will spread out the start line, the course, water stations and the finish line
–> All water stations will have hand sanitizer available for participants and volunteers
–> All finish line food will be individually wrapped and handed to participants by gloved volunteers
–> All water stations will have Gatorade and water available in paper cups that will be handed to them by gloved volunteers
–> Volunteers are able to refill water bottles at water stations
–> FREE disposable masks will be available at both start lines, in the bus parking lot and finish line
The safety of our participants, volunteers, sponsors, spectators and staff is most important!
