The Details
Every day 22 U.S. military service members and veterans commit suicide. November is National Veterans and Military Families Month and we want to strengthen the community by helping bring awareness and much needed funds to this important issue.
During the month of November registered participants will be asked to run, walk, bike or swim to raise funds for Active Heroes. All running, walking, biking and swimming will be turned into “steps”. More participants equal more steps and more steps adds up to a larger the donation to Active Heroes by FitnessBank.
We encourage participants to move as much as they’d like during the challenge, but we ask everyone to move for a minimum of 22 minutes a day to bring much needed awareness to the 22 veterans, and active duty military personnel who commit suicide each day.
Everyone is welcome to participate. Fast or slow, young or old, active duty or civilian everyone can turn their steps into a donation to help Active Heroes as they work to eliminate suicide among US Military Members and Veterans.

The Why
According to a 2013 study by the United States Department of Veteran Affairs, every 65 minutes another veteran or active duty service member commits suicide. That’s an average of 22 suicides per day.
All money raised will be donated directly to Active Heroes, an IRS approved 501c3 Charity. The mission is to support all U.S. military service members, veterans and their families through physical, educational, and emotional programs in an effort to eliminate suicide.
Participants can donate money directly through the registration path, but can also raise additional funds through running, walking, biking and \ or swimming!
